Canon Digital IXUS i7 zoom Review
For his latest, Canon has not really innovated. The IXUS i7 is no more, unless the Ixus i zoom with a 7-megapixel sensor. The result is a small device that fails to be convincing.

Verdict Canon Digital IXUS i7 zoom
if it is attractive by its compact size, problems of speed and image quality of Digital IXUS i7 zoom are too important to pass unnoticed.
Change does not necessarily synonymous with revolution. The new versions of products without building upgrades important and radical may nevertheless mark an improvement. This is true of Canon Digital IXUS i7 zoom. Canon has taken its Digital IXUS i zoom ultra, has gratified a 7-megapixel sensor and a new image processor, added a few accessories practices, and that’s all.
Compact and stylish, the camera incorporates the cabinet of his predecessor, the Digital IXUS i zoom. In regular format, it is all metal and comes in four colors (gray, blue, pink and chocolate). Measuring less than 2.5 cm thick for just 122 g, the Digital IXUS i7 zoom fits easily into almost any pocket.
Unfortunately, the compact size of the Digital IXUS i7 zoom resulting in few features. Bereft of viewfinder, the camera is equipped with an LCD screen of 4.6 cm and uses a viewing angle relatively small for objective 38-90 mm (equivalent to a 35 mm camera) identical to that of Digital IXUS i zoom. Besides higher resolution, improved the most notable of Digital IXUS i7 zoom lies in its new image processor Digic III. According to Canon, it enhances the image quality, performance and battery life. However, we have seen no major improvement compared to the Digital IXUS i zoom. The aircraft perhaps even showed a little slow, but it may be due to its higher resolution. The sensor Digital IXUS i7 zoom can also achieve a sensitivity of ISO 1600, which constitutes a significant improvement compared to the maximum setting of ISO 400 Digital IXUS i zoom. Finally, the device supports SD memory cards of high capacity (4 GB and above).
Although it does not offer many new features, the Digital IXUS i7 zoom includes some accessories that was lacking the Digital IXUS i zoom. It is now a small docking station on which it relies for its load, and an infrared remote control. The docking station is welcome but the use of remote control is more limited than usual. It can not control the camera when it is in its docking station and only to view, print or transfer images. It can not serve the trigger.
Canon Digital IXUS i7 zoom Review
This compact camera produced poor performance. After a time which starts at 1.3 seconds, the interval between each shot is 2.3 seconds and 5.2 seconds, more than double with flash enabled. The time of the shutter is acceptable but not breathtaking, 0.5 seconds under intense lighting and 1.4 seconds in the dark. The burst mode is also very slow: only 1.2 images per second (fps).
The noise in the image is the major problem of Digital IXUS i7 zoom. The speckles and grain are beginning to appear at ISO 100 and make the photos almost unusable at ISO 800 and beyond. The sensitivity of the sensor can certainly achieve ISO 1600, but with this setting, the photos appear to be covered with a thin layer of sand. The colors are as they faithfully reproduced, but the automatic white balance tends to give a yellow color made the photos taken under a light inside.
The Canon Digital IXUS i7 zoom proves that beauty is sometimes superficial. The case is compact and stylish aesthetic, but slow performance and noise delivered to the image makes it a poor choice for photographers regularly. If you look really a digital camera compact and stylish, rather you interested in Cyber Shot DSC-T30 from Sony or the Exilim EX-Z1000 Casio.
